How do you measure the size of a raindrop?

 Dr Andrew Eccleston

School of Marine Science & Engineering ,

University of Plymouth

Rain falls as small drops of water from the sky. Measuring the size of the drops is an essential step in predicting weather and giving advance warning of floods. Andrew's talk will explain how the development of "weather radar" is more than just an interesting feature of TV weather forecasts.
